Foghat, Cactus & Pat Travers Band
Foghat, Cactus and Pat Travers Band join forces in Clearwater at Ruth Eckerd Hall! Foghat, recently turned 53 years old, make their Ruth Eckerd Hall debut! Those in the audience, whether they discovered Foghat in the video game Guitar Hero III, from the movie Dazed & Confused, or they discovered them when they purchased their 1972 debut album, knows they are the real deal. If Foghat had been a one hit wonder and only had success with the song Slow Ride they’d still have a well-deserved place in rock ‘n’ roll history. Thankfully, however, Foghat has been so much more than that with hits such as Fool for the City and Third Time Lucky. Rest assured, this band will truly roll ‘til their old and rock ‘til they drop.
Cactus emerged in 1969 with a sound that combined blues, boogie, and hard rock. Now, five decades later, the band that made such an impression with their loud blues-edged hard rock madness, the band that influenced the likes of Van Halen, Joe Bonamassa, David Coverdale, Kid Rock and the band that foreshadowed heavy music itself… are back.
With his hard, edgy tone, rough and rowdy vocals, and barroom boogie aesthetic, Canadian singer, guitarist, and keyboardist Pat Travers is a fine example of a Canadian bluesy hard rock act. He arrived during the ‘70s heyday of hard blues-rocking guitar heroes and is known for hits such as Snortin’ Whiskey and Boom, Boom (Out Go The Lights).
